Will Mouser (left),and Ryan Roberson, high voltage lineman instructors from ASU-Newport, were on the Rector High School campus Friday, Aug. 23 and spoke to a small but interested group of students.Mouser and Roberson provided details about the very competitive High Voltage Lineman Program offered at their school. They advised students to keep an eye on their driver’s licenses and make sure they don’t get too many tickets.“Too many points against your license would affect your ability to earn your CDL which is a requirement with us,”Roberson said. Students were surprised to learn that the school typically receives 100-120 applicants for the 40 seats available each year.“Fortunately, we have recently had three RHS graduates to complete the program and a fourth is attending currently. This session was the first of the year, and I cannot wait for our students to hear from our other guests!” commented Kathy Fowler,RHS Career Coach.(Courtesy photo)
