Vonna Lou Speer

Vonna Lou Speer, 88, of Rector, passed from this world on May 15, 2023. Vonna was born to the late Jesse and Stella (Foster) Burns in Rector. Vonna was a mother and grandmother, who loved her family with all her heart. She wanted them to spend time with her every chance they could and she spoiled them with all her love. She found beauty in all she looked at and shared that with them. She was a nature and animal lover. She was also a faithful member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Hargraves for many years. She was always an active member who loved working with the children in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Christmas plays and anywhere else she was needed.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson: Derick Robertson and her brother Joe Burns.

Vonna is survived by her children: Jim and Nikki Speer of Rector, Barbara and Terry Robertson of Rector and Stephen andAngel Speer of Rector; her grandkids: Bekah and Lee Whittley, Matt and Stella Hill, Jase and Heather Speer, Jessica and Mike Armenteros, Andrew and Brittani Hill, Zachary and Jessica Robertson, Tara and Jamie Eatmon, Bailey and Tyler Watson, Makenna Speer and Caidyn Speer; her great-grandchildren: Keaton, Harleigh, Becca Grace, Harper, Eden, Ty, Heath, Camille, AnnDee, Ezra, Katelyn, Daniel, James Derick, Levi and Henry; sister- in-law: Gail Burns; cousins whom she spent lots of good times with: Kay Hill and Jackie Blake along with a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday: May 18, 2023, at the Evangelical Methodist Church in Hargraves Corner. The service will begin at 1p.m. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the church or to the Helping Hands Foundation.
