Wilma Dean Scott

Wilma Dean Scott, 87, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away September 1, 2024, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.

She was born onAugust 18, 1937, in Greene County, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Hughey and Hazel Damron.

Wilma was a hard worker who dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked until she was 83 years old as a caretaker where she loved visiting with her patients. During her free time, Wilma enjoyed watching hummingbirds and family vacations. She cherished those moments of spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Tony McClung; granddaughter, Crystal Fletcher; sisters, Brenda Damron and Sharon Dunlap; and brother, Rondle Damron.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Tammye Hendrix; son, Terry (Leann) Harris; son-in-law, Mike Hendrix; sister, Barbara (Harold) Morgan; sister-in-law, Mary Damron; grandchildren: Lee McClung, T.J. (Kailyn) Harris, Jessica (Corbin) Chase, Jeffrey Harris, Trevor Harris, Mallory (Hayden) Lemmons, Harley Russell and Lane Buchanan, Logan Sullivan, and Layla (Landon) Nolen; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 12 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Arkansas.

Pallbearers were T. J. Harris, Landon Nolen, Jeffrey Harris, Hayden Lemmons, Corbin Chase, and Lee McClung with Logan Sullivan serving as honorary pallbearer.

Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time.
