The Rector Cougars wore their visitor blue and the fans filled the home stands clad in “Black Out” gear. The team ran onto the court for the 7:30 tip-off against the #1 seed Riverside Rebels on Saturday, District Tournament games delayed due to inclement weather. Introduced as visitors on the scoreboard, the Cougars received a rousing cheer from the hometown crowd. The Riverside Rebels wore white.
An early game schedule on Thursday, Feb 13, brought Norfork Panther boys and girls teams to Rector for the final games of the regular season on the Cougar’s home court. The Lady Cougars tipped off at 5 p.m. followed by a recognition ceremony for Cash Lindsey noting his 1000 point career achievement. The senior high Cougars finished out the evening with two wins in the record books and by 7:30 p.m., fans were headed home.
The Piggott Mohawks celebrated their seniors on Tuesday, Feb. 11 before their game against the Hoxie Mustangs.

Rector High School Sports Hall of Fame recognized the Class of 2024 which was inducted during the annual Labor Day luncheon. The group received their commemorative, engraved plaques which they placed in the trophy case located in the Mezzanine of the Rector gym. Owen Mosley, treasurer of RHSSHOF read each inductee’s accomplishments in the name of RHS and presented the plaques.
Rector High School recognized seniors who contributed to the basketball and cheerleading programs on Feb. 7, Friday evening, during the break between the junior high and senior high basketball games against East Poinsett County, a formidable foe.
